PDM - Klaus: 10 yrs experience with euro disputable

The experience with ten years of euro existence is very disputable, President Vaclav Klaus writes in an article published in daily Mlada fronta Dnes (MfD) today. Klaus warns against further weakening of democracy in Europe and against its unification. The euro has succeeded in its basic monetary functions at first sight but, in contrast with expectations, it has failed to prevent the continuation of the slowdown of economic growth in the euro zone which lasted for several decades. Just the opposite, with the euro, the growth got even slower, Klaus says.
